    Steam Turbine Instrumentation and Controls Engineer with Siemens T3000 expertise

    Shanahan Engineering require a qualified I&C Engineer with steam turbine (and some Water Steam Cycle and HRSG experience) for upcoming work in the United States. Qualified candidates must have previous (AND DOCUMENTED IN THE RESUME) experience working on these portions of power plants in the past. These roles will ultimately be responsible for Unit Control Commissioning of I&C equipment. Qualified candidates MUST be able to work in the United States without Visa assistance.

     

    Technical Responsibilities:

    • Coordination of I&C equipment between all components of the power plant
    • Responsibility for open and closed loop controls coordinating power plant outputs
    • Commissioning of the Unit Control / Unit Coordination using T3000 Control Methodology in relation to - Startup Times, Grid Coding and control circuits according to logic-diagrams for performance and start-up
    • Proper handling of internal communication documentation
    • Commissioning of I&C components primarily in within Water Steam Cycle and Heat Recovery Steam Generators
    • Optimization of open and closed control loops within Water Steam Cycle and Heat Recovery Steam Generators

     

    Administrative Responsibilities:

    • Written report creation of reports for the Commissioning Management team
    • Provide all documentation related to final acceptance of client
    • Identify field changes and other problems related to various supplier scope and obtain approval of the Commissioning Management team prior to start of work
    • Identify and resolving conflicts between installed and as-designed conditions

     

    MUST HAVE Qualifications:

    • Experience in execution of identical or similar commissioning (Water and HRSG Systems)
    • Previous experience interpreting commissioning documentation and software products
    • Previous experience commissioning and operating Water Steam Cycle equipment and HRSG's
    • Knowledge and use of KKS-System Information and Standards
    • In-depth knowledge of all systems of a combined cycle power plant and their interaction with each other

    Position Description

    The Gas/Steam Turbine Mechanic is a field-based employee who performs mechanical work on gas/steam turbines on-site.  The employee will work on a contractor basis and will be sent to customers’ sites by air or car, depending on travel distance.  Taking performance and evaluation feedback into consideration, upon completion of a customer’s power plant shut-down, the employee may be sent on another assignment to a different customer’s site within Texas and surrounding states

     

    Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

    -          Perform work with highest regard to safety and quality

    -          Participate in the assembly and disassembly of gas & steam turbines and other rotating equipment

    -          Use precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.

    -          Use specialty hydraulic tools such as Hytorc and/or ITH

    -          Properly rig equipment, and/or operate forklifter / overhead cranes if certified

    Required skills/experience:

    -          Basic mechanical skills such as drilling, using wrenches, filing, etc.

    -          Basic skills with measurement tools such micrometer

    -          Ability to read and understand blueprints

    -          Willing to travel extensively across the country to different power plants

    -          Preference for candidates with experience in rotating equipment such as diesel/gas engines, steam turbines and/or compressors

    Quality Control Manager – The Quality Control Manager shall be a graduate of a four year accredited college program in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Construction Management or Building Construction, with a minimum of 10 years as a superintendent, inspector, QC Manager, project manager or construction manager on similar size and type construction contracts which include major trades that are part of this contract. Equivalent practical experience in lieu of degree may be permitted with superior skill set. This individual must be familiar with the requirements of COE EM-385-1-1 and have experience in the area of hazard identification and safety compliance. In addition, the QC Manager shall have completed the course entitled “Construction Quality Management for Contractors” –it is one day training, at accredited locations. The only duties and responsibilities of the QC Manager are to manage and implement the QC Program for this contract.
    The QC Manager will perform the three (3) phases of control (Except for those phases of control designated to be performed by QC Specialists); perform submittal review and approval as outlined in Section 01 33 00 – Submittal Procedures; manage and coordinate the three (3) phases of control and documentation performed by the QC Specialists, including Testing Laboratory personnel and any other inspection and testing personnel required by the Contract. No work or testing may be performed unless the QC Manager is on the work. The QC Manager shall report to the Project Superintendent. The QC Manager is required to ensure the as-built drawings, required by Closeout Procedures are kept current on a daily basis and marked to show deviations, which have been made from the Contract drawings.

    Contract to provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the balance-of-plant infrastructure and construction of the turbines for Projects. Each Project’s civil infrastructure includes, but is not limited to, access roads, crane paths, turbine pads, and foundations. The Projects’ electrical infrastructure includes, but is not limited to, one 35/230kV project substation one 230kV interconnection line of 6 miles in length, all 35kV collection system circuits. The Work also includes the installation and all tasks necessary to achieve turbine electrical and mechanical completion of all turbines utilizing an 85-meter tower and the installation of approximately 4 x 85meter tall meteo towers and one (1) maintenance building and one additional storage building. The Wind Project, consisting of four (4) x 78mw each for a total project size of approx. 320MW, installing 115 x 2.5MW turbines to be located in the Northern State. Each wind turbine will be equipped with either a 110 or 120-meter rotor diameter at an 85mtr hub height. Battery Facility of 40mwh in size.
